CJHL names its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars for December
Goaltenders Hambley, Cicigoi & right wing Gagné collect monthly honours

CALGARY, Alta. – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Thursday that the trio of Will Hambley, (G) Steinbach Pistons (MJHL); Maxime Gagné, (RW) Collège-Français de Longueuil (LHJAAAQ) and Christian Cicigoi, (G) Haliburton County Huskies (OJHL) have been named its Gongshow Gear 3 Stars of the Month for December.

1ST STAR: WILL HAMBLEY, (G) STEINBACH PISTONS (MJHL) – A stellar December saw the 19-year-old netminder from Cole Harbour, N.S., collect victories in each of his five starts for Steinbach while sporting a stingy 1.40 goals-against average as well as an equally-solid .958 save percentage.

He also registered a pair of shutouts and had a run of 166 minutes and 26 seconds, extending into 2022, without giving up a goal.

Hambley, who has won all of his past 13 appearances for the Pistons, tops all MJHL goaltenders in average at 1.93.

His .932 save percentage also paces his league and he shares the MJHL-lead in shutouts with four.

2nd STAR: MAXIME GAGNÉ, (RW) COLLÈGE FRANÇAIS de LONGUEUIL (LHJAAAQ) – The 20-year-old St-Constant, Que., product pumped in 13 goals and dished out seven assists in just six games for his club, which were all victories.

Gagné also registered a solid plus-13 rating for the month.

Also part of his contributions for Collège-Français were four power play markers and one game-winner.

Presently sitting second in LHJAAAQ offensive production, Gagné has 69 points to his credit, including 28 tallies, and paces his 12-team league in point-per-game average at 2.46.

The 20-year-old from Thunder Bay, Ont., currently shares the OJHL-lead in wins with 16 and currently sits eighth overall in both GAA (2.36) and SV% (.924).

Sitting fourth in league play with 652 stops, Cicigoi has made 30, or more, saves in 12 of his appearances so far this season.
