The Truro Bearcats have announced that forward Éli Baillargeon has committed to the Université de Sherbrooke Vert et Or for next season.
The 20-year-old from Shefford, Quebec joined the Bearcats after the 2024-25 trade deadline and tallied twelve goals and fourteen assists in nineteen games to cap the regular season. In the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, Baillargeon had six goals and six assists as Truro lost in the Eastlink South Division Final. He was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week once during the season.
With one weekend left in the 2025-26 season, Baillargeon sits second in team scoring with 53 points, just inside the league’s top 20. He has 30 goals and 23 assists in 45 games. Baillargeon sits second in the MHL with thirteen powerplay goals. He was named the Honourable Mention for the league’s Top Forward in December and has been named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week five times.
