Former Lumberjack Astill commits to Simon Fraser University

The South Shore Lumberjacks have announced that former forward McKullen Astill has committed to Simon Fraser University for the 2019-20 season.

The 21-year-old was acquired from the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL in January of 2018. In 17 games during the 2017-18 season, Astill tallied one goal and five assists, adding two assists in twelve playoff games.

With a fresh season ahead of him, Astill helped lead South Shore’s offence in 2018-19. Playing all 50 games, he posted 19 goals and 27 assists which placed him fifth in team scoring. In the Canadian Tire Playoffs, he added two goals and four assists as the Lumberjacks made a run to the Eastlink South Final for the second year in a row.
