Mariners’ Chisholm commits to Saint Mary’s University

The Yarmouth Mariners have announced that captain Will Chisholm has committed to Saint Mary’s University.

The 20-year-old from Lunenburg, N.S. was drafted in the 7th Round, 108th overall, by the South Shore Lumberjacks in the 2019 MHL Entry Draft. He joined the team for the 2020-21 season, posting seven goals and thirteen assists in 34 games. Chisholm also had two goals and two assists in six playoff games.

He spent the next two seasons with the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques, collecting seven goals and ten assists in 111 games, with one assist in nine playoff games.

Chisholm was acquired by the Mariners prior to the 2023 MHL Entry Draft as part of a massive trade with the West Kent Steamers, who had just moved from South Shore. To the end of January, Chisholm led Yarmouth in scoring with seventeen goals and 23 assists for 40 points in 33 games. He has also twice been named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week.

The MHL congratulates Chisholm on his post-secondary commitment.
