The Yarmouth Mariners have announced that defenseman Jano Zambakdjian has committed to Vermont State University Castleton, an NCAA Division III program.
The 21-year-old from Laval, Quebec entered the Maritime Junior Hockey League in October 2024 with the Summerside Western Capitals. He finished the 2024-25 regular season with three goals and seventeen assists in 36 games. He was once named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week. In the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, Zambakdjian had one goal in five games.
He was traded to Yarmouth after the season and played 50 games for the Mariners in 2025-26, posting 22 assists. Yarmouth’s captain was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week on one occasion.
