Notes

    • Here we go again, as the forever rivals meet for the first time since the Eastlink South semi-final in 2021-22. The Bearcats took that series in five games, on their way to a loss in the league final to Summerside. Truro also beat Amherst in the division final in 2016-17 in five games as they then went on to win the league championship, and in six games in 2012-13 before the Bearcats lost to Summerside in the league final. Amherst last beat Truro in the playoffs in the division semi-final in 2011-12 in five games before losing to Yarmouth in the next round.
    • The Bearcats held a 4-4-0-0 record against the Ramblers this season, the best mark of any team against Amherst. The teams went 2-2-0-0 at home and on the road.
    • The Ramblers have struggled to crack the Bearcat’s powerplay this season, going 4 for 23 in their eight meetings (17.4%), well below their league-leading 30.7% powerplay. Truro went 5 for 30 against Amherst (16.7%), which is in line with their 17.1% mark for the season that ranks second-last in the league.
    • Amherst accumulated the 2nd-most penalty minutes this season at 1,286, while Truro had the fewest in the league at 747.
    • In general, the Ramblers get stronger as the game goes on, with a goal differential of +11 in the 1st period, +20 in the 2nd period, and +34 in the 3rd period, leading to the 2nd best goals per game in the MHL at 4.71. Truro had a -1 goal differential in the 1st, +5 in the 2nd, but +18 in the 3rd.
    • Amherst had the best winning percentage this season when scoring first at .808, going 21-5-0-0. They were 3-2-0-0 when getting the first goal against Truro.
    • The Ramblers got a big boost on March 1st with the return of Jonah Jelley, who played his first game since November 24th. The Bearcats will be hoping for a similar return from Matthew Bolduc who was injured just before the Christmas Break, returned for three games in February, and missed the final month of the regular season.
