Notes

  • Edmundston and Miramichi met in the Eastlink North Division Semi-Final last season, where the Blizzard defeated the Timberwolves in six games. They also met in the first round in 2017-18 where the Blizzard swept Miramichi on their way to a league championship.
  • Miramichi was Edmundston’s toughest opponent in 2023-24, winning four games and collecting points in six of their eight meetings. The Blizzard did outscore the Timberwolves 31-27 overall. However, Miramichi was 3-1-0-0 at home against Edmundston.
  • Head-to-head, Miramichi was 8 for 32 (25.0%) on the powerplay against the Blizzard, while Edmundston was 8 for 35 (22.9%) against the Timberwolves with the man advantage. That’s an improvement for Miramichi’s overall regular season percentage of 20.6%, while a worse output for Edmundston who had a powerplay percentage of 26.5% in the regular season. The Blizzard were perfect in the penalty kill against the Red Wings in the first round, killing off all eleven Fredericton powerplays they faced.
  • Edmundston easily lead the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs in goals per game at 5.20 with 21 goals in their four-game sweep of Fredericton. 
  • 2023-24 Player of the Year Ludovic Dufort scored over a quarter of Miramichi’s goals against Edmundston this season, including the game-winner as part of a hat trick on March 3rd. Dufort didn’t score in the first round against West Kent but was a key contributor with seven assists.
  • Edmundston’s Dominic LeBlanc leads the playoffs with six goals and is tied with Miramichi’s David Doucet for the most goals thus far with six. In addition, three of LeBlanc’s goals were game-winners. He also leads all players with four powerplay points. LeBlanc and Doucet have the longest active goal streak at four games. They are two of five players with active four-game point streaks.
  • 2023-24 Goaltender of the Year Nicholas Sheehan had a 3-4-0-0 record against Miramichi with a 2.98 goals against average and .906 save percentage. Adam Rouleau went 3-0-1-0 against the Blizzard, with two of those starts as a member of Summerside, and had a 2.72 GAA and .927 SV%. In three games against Edmundston, Jack Flanagan had a record of 1-0-1-0 with a 3.72 GAA and .903 SV%.
