Campbellton, NB – June 28, 2019 – It is during its annual fundraising golf tournament that the Campbellton Tigers organization introduced its newest member of the coaching staff, M. Sandy McCarthy. Drafted 52nd overall during the NHL draft in 1991, Mr. McCarthy brings with him over 700 regular season NHL experience. He will be the new Associate Coach. Last year, he was the Head Coach of the Grand-Falls Rapids.
In addition to this important announcement, the Tigers organization recognized the MHL award received by its Executive during the league’s annual meetings a few weeks ago. General Manager and Head Coach Greg Leland provided an overview of the players drafted while Vice-President Jackie Bujold presented the new ticketing system that will be used during the 2019-2020 season.
Owner Pierre Girard reiterated the importance of the current volunteer base in his decision to acquire the team with his business partner Mark Catroppa. The golf tournament is a full capacity with 28 teams registered, its largest participation since its inception.

Campbellton, NB – le 28 juin 2019 – C’est dans le cadre de son tournoi de golf annuel que les Tigres de Campbellton ont fait connaître le nouveau membre de son équipe d’entraîneur M. Sandy McCarthy. Ayant été repêché au 52e rang de la Ligue Nationale en 1991, il apporte une expérience professionnelle d’au-delà de 700 matches dans la LNH. Il a été nommé entraîneur associé. L’an dernier, il était entraîneur chef avec les Rapidos de Grand-Sault.
En plus de cette importante annonce, l’organisation des Tigres de Campbellton en a profité pour reconnaître le prix reçu par son Exécutif pendant l’assemblée générale annuelle de la ligue MHL il y a quelques semaines. Le directeur général Greg Leland a dressé un bilan des joueurs repêchés alors que le vice-président Jackie Bujold présenta le nouveau système de billeterie pour la saison 2019-2020.
Le propriétaire Pierre Girard a réitéré l’importance de l’équipe de bénévole dans sa décision d’acquérir le club avec son partenaire d’affaires Marc Catroppa. Le tournoi de golf est à pleine capacité pour cette édition avec 28 équipes, un record depuis le début de celui-ci.
