The Miramichi Timberwolves have announced that forward Nick Beatty has committed to Maryville University, a program in Missouri transitioning to NCAA Division I.

The 20-year-old from Quispamsis, N.B. was an 8th Round selection, 117th overall, by the Fredericton Red Wings in the 2021 MHL Entry Draft. He played one game for the club in the 2022-23 season. After half a season in the NOJHL with the Powassan VooDoos, Beatty was traded to Grand Falls in January 2024. He finished the 2023-24 season with one goal and two assists in 22 games for the Rapids.

Beatty spent the 2024-25 season with the Notre Dame Hounds of the SJHL and was obtained by the Chaleur Lightning, formerly Fredericton, ahead of the 2025-26 season. He had five assists in eighteen games with Chaleur before he was again traded, this time to the Timberwolves in November 2025. Beatty had five goals and five assists in 29 games for Miramichi to close out 2025-26.

The MHL congratulates Beatty on his post-secondary commitment.
