TORONTO – The Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) announced Thursday that forwards Travis Verbeek (Whitecourt Wolverines/AJHL) and Ludovic Dufort (Miramichi Timberwolves/MHL), along with goaltender Tomas Anderson (OCN Blizzard/MJHL) have been named the CJHL 3 Stars of the Month for February – Fuelled by Gatorade.
1ST STAR: TRAVIS VERBEEK, (F) WHITECOURT WOLVERINES (AJHL) – The University Alaska-Anchorage, NCAA Division I commit topped all Alberta Junior Hockey League skaters in offensive production last month with 17 points, in seven games played.
Hailing from Flesherton, Ont., the 19-year-old Verbeek tallied five times, including supplying a trio of game-winning goals, and dished out a dozen assists for Whitecourt along the way. He also had five multi-point efforts during the time frame.
Finishing sixth in AJHL scoring, Verbeek’s eight game-winners overall tied for the league lead in helping the Wolverines capture the Dave Duchak Trophy as AJHL regular season champions for the first time in their history.
