Timberwolves’ Santerre commits to Western University

The Miramichi Timberwolves have announced that forward Jacob Santerre has committed to Western University.

The 20-year-old from Farnham, Quebec played two seasons with the Timberwolves where he finished with 146 points in just 87 regular season games.

In 2021-22, Santerre finished eighth in league scoring with 24 goals and 28 assists for 52 points in 35 games. He was named an All-Star at right wing for the Eastlink North. Santerre was named the MHL`s Top Forward in October 2021 and made the North`s Team of the Week four times.

He followed up that performance in 2022-23 with 94 points in 52 games, finishing second in the league to teammate Daryk Dube-Plouffe. His 42 goals were second-most in the MHL and his 52 assists were fifth-most. He was named Honourable Mention for Top Forward in October and February and made the North`s Team of the Week twice. In the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, Santerre has six goals and five assists in six playoff games.
