Waugh commits to Royal Military College Paladins

Former St. Stephen Aces captain Michael Waugh has committed to the Royal Military College Paladins hockey team for 2019-20.

Waugh, from Blackville, N.B., played seven games as an affiliated player with the Miramichi Timberwolves in 2015-16. He was drafted in the 11th Round, 106th overall, in the 2016 MHL Entry Draft by the St. Stephen Aces. In his first full season in the league, the defenseman played 48 games with two goals and seven assists, but was held pointless in four playoff games. It would be a similar season in 2017-18, where Waugh would score one goal and add seven assists in 46 games.

Named as captain for the 2018-19 season, Waugh more than doubled his career point total with 12 goals and 11 assists in 41 games. He added two goals in a first round loss to Summerside in the Canadian Tire Cup Playoffs.
