CJHL announces its preseason Top 20 Rankings for 2019-20
Portage Terriers (MJHL) tabbed preseason No. 1 in 132-team CJHL

CALGARY, Alta. – The start of another Canadian Junior Hockey League campaign is rapidly approaching with all 10 of its member leagues gearing up for the commencement of their respective regular seasons.

A total of 132 CJHL clubs will take to the ice during the upcoming season and topping the table in the preseason rankings are the 2020 Canadian National Junior A Championship host Portage Terriers (MJHL).

Coming in No. 2 nationally in the preseason listings are the Prince George Spruce Kings the defending BCHL and Doyle Cup title holders.

Next at No. 3 are the reigning AJHL and national Jr. A champion Brooks Bandits.

The Oakville Blades, who claimed OJHL and Dudley-Hewitt crowns last season are slotted No. 4 while the North Battlefords North Stars (SIJHL) come in at No. 5.

Rounding out the Top 10 are the Carleton Place Canadians (CCHL) 6th; Spruce Grove Saints (AJHL) 7th; Penticton Vees (BCHL) 8th, Nipawin Hawks (SJHL) 9th and the North York Rangers (OJHL) 10th.

The initial CJHL Top 20 for the season will be released on Monday, Sept. 23.

The weekly CJHL rankings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service, are determined using a variety of factors during the process.
