Bornstein commits to University of Toronto Varsity Blues

The Tigers organization has announced that Brendan Bornstein has committed to the University of Toronto Varsity Blues of U Sports’ Ontario University Athletics.

The 20-year-old defenseman spent four seasons in the Maritime Junior Hockey League, totaling 32 goals and 92 assists in 166 games. He debuted for the former Woodstock Slammers in 2015-16 and stayed with the club through their move to Grand Falls for the 2018-19 season. He had one goal and one assist in seven playoff games for Woodstock in 2015-16.

Bornstein was acquired by the Campbellton Tigers on January 9, 2019. Down the stretch, he posted four goals and eight assists in 17 games as well as one goal and two assists in 15 games as the Tigers advanced to the Canadian Tire Cup Final.

The Tigers congratulate Bornstein on his commitment and thank the Slammers and Rapids for being an integral part of his hockey journey.
