Job posting for MHL President

The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is seeking a President to lead the League as we enter the post-COVID-19 pandemic era. The MHL has a rich history, having been in continuous operation since 1967, with twelve teams spread across the three Maritime Provinces. The League is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) and operates under the mandate of Hockey Canada.

The President is a FULL-TIME leadership position, which reports to the Chairman of the Board of Governors. The President will be responsible for the overall management and leadership of the league. Maintaining the viability of the MHL and its member franchises is an integral role of the President.

The MHL is seeking applicants who have a strong background in sports management, with an emphasis on hockey. The President will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the MHL, and oversee both the compliance of sponsors contracts and the financial administration of the league. The President will embrace innovation, player development, and advancement.

The MHL is looking for a President who is a self-starter, has strong interpersonal skills, the ability to deal with difficult situations with diplomacy, and the ability to present the League as a viable option for partners, communities, and players.

This is an exciting opportunity for a person who has a passion for the game of hockey and a desire to lead a storied and successful league as we look forward to a return to normal.
