The Summerside Western Capitals have announced the Conor MacEachern has committed to UPEI for the 2019-20 season.
Selected in the 10th Round, 120th overall, in the 2015 MHL Entry Draft, MacEachern spent three seasons with the WHL’s Portland Winterhawks before returning to P.E.I. and joining the Western Capitals for the 2018-19 season.
The 20-year-old from Charlottetown scored 14 goals and added 34 assists in 45 games to tie for the most points in the MHL for a defenseman with Campbellton’s Pierre-Luc Lurette. MacEachern finished fourth in team scoring in the Canadian Tire Cup Playoffs, with two goals and seven assists in ten games.
