St Francis Xavier University has announced that Summerside Western Capitals forward Dominik Godin has committed to their program for 2025-26.
Godin, from Sudbury, Ontario, joined the Western Capitals at the 2023-24 trade deadline in a deal with the NOJHL’s French River Rapids. He finished the regular season with ten goals and ten assists in nineteen games played. He was named to the Eastlink South Team of the Week once. In the Metalfab MHL Cup Playoffs, Godin had four goals and six assists in fifteen games as Summerside lost in the final to Miramichi.
He came out of the gates strong in 2024-25 and was named Honourable Mention for the MHL’s Top Forward award in September. Godin would be named Top Forward in November and was on the Eastlink South Team of the Week six times. He finished second in league scoring with 85 points, playing all 52 games, just two points behind Pictou County’s Lucas Canning. Godin was also second to Canning in goals with 46, to go with 46 assists, but led the MHL with 20 powerplay goals. He was second in powerplay points with 33 and tied with four other players for the most game-winning goals at seven. Godin was also named to the Eastlink South All-Star Team. In the playoffs, he had one goal and one assist in five games.
