The Valley Wildcats have announced that defenseman Keigan Casey has committed to the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology for 2022-23.
The 20-year-old from Hammonds Plains, N.S. was selected by the Wildcats in the 4th Round, 70th overall, in the 2019 MHL Entry Draft. In his rookie season of 2019-20, Casey had four goals and thirteen assists in 45 games for Valley. In 2021-22, he had two goals and eight assists in 22 games, with two assists in five games during the Canadian Tire Cup Playoff Round Robin.
In his final season with the Wildcats, Casey had three goals and eleven assists in 31 games, including just 20 penalty minutes. He was named a member of the MHL’s Players of the Week once during the season. Casey scored once and added three assists during Valley’s run in the Canadian Tire Cup Playoffs.
